Privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for gaugeon. I have tried to keep it short and readable. If anything is unclear, or you want a copy of the information I hold about you, email hello@gaugeon.com.
What I collect
When you submit the inquiry form on this site, I collect the details you enter: your name, work email, and the description of your situation. If you choose to include them, I also collect your company name, the platforms you select, the type of work you are asking about, and a phone number.
Standard technical data may also be recorded automatically by the servers that host the site, in the way any web application keeps request logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp).
Why I collect it
Solely to respond to your inquiry, scope the work you are asking about, and communicate with you as the engagement progresses. I do not use inquiry data for marketing.
What I do not do
I do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising.
To run the site and deliver my reply, the following service providers process data on my behalf. Each of them processes only what is needed to do its part, strictly to operate the service:
- Fly.io hosts the web application. Inquiry form submissions pass through Fly on their way to storage.
- Neon hosts the Postgres database where inquiry records are stored.
- Resend delivers the notification email that reaches my inbox when you submit the form.
- Microsoft 365 hosts the mailbox where I read your inquiry and reply from. Any subsequent email exchange with you goes through that mailbox.
These providers are not used for advertising, profiling, or resale of your data.
Storage and security
Inquiry data is stored in a private database on a password-protected connection with TLS in transit. It is kept only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, complete any work that follows, and maintain the normal business records (invoices, engagement notes) a small business keeps.
Your choices
You can ask me to access, correct, or delete the information I hold about you at any time. Email hello@gaugeon.com and I will handle the request.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site and the practice evolve. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
